Reception

Receptionists provide an important link for patients with the practice and are your initial contact point for general enquiries. They can provide basic information on services and results and direct you to the right person depending on your health issue or query. Receptionists make most of the patient appointments with the GPs and nurses and perform important tasks on behalf of our Patients and the GPs.

Attached Staff

Community Midwives

We have a team of midwives attached to each of the surgeries. Care in pregnancy is provided by the practice in conjunction with the local Consultant Obstetricians and our local Midwives. Antenatal care will be carried out in the surgery during normal surgery or Ante-natal Clinic hours. (Please tell the Receptionist it is an ante-natal appointment as some may need extra time.)

Community Nurses

We have a team of district nurses assigned to both surgeries. They provide specialised nursing support for house bound patients with nursing needs.

Health Visitors

A health visitor is a registered nurse who has received training particularly related to babies, children and pregnant women. Their role is to provide families with children under five years old with support and advice around the general aspects of mental, physical and social wellbeing. As part of the Healthy Child Programme, the health visitor will be offering an antenatal contact between 28 and 36 weeks either in a group session or as an individual. Also your child will be offered a health review at 8-12 months and again at 2 years. Well Baby Clinics are held on the 3rd Monday of each month at The Oakshott Centre, Naphill and Chequers Surgery, Prestwood every Monday 13:30 – 15:00. Child Immunisations are arranged centrally by Community Services and appointments will be received in the post accordingly.
