TO REQUEST A REPEAT PRESCRIPTION:
- Tear Off Slip
Tear off the right hand slip from your last ordered prescription and mark
which medication you require. Either hand this in to our dispensary or post
it to us. If you wish to have your prescription posted back to you please
supply a stamped addressed envelope.
Please give as much notice as possible to ensure that you do not run out of
medication and to ensure we have the medication in stock if you are a dispensing
patient.
Please bring enough money or a cheque book (if you pay for
your prescriptions) as we are unable to extend credit.
Please remember that the doctor or nurse will need to see you at regular
intervals to review your condition. Leave yourself enough medication in case you
need an appointment.
REPEAT PRESCRIPTIONS MAY NOT BE ORDERED BY TELEPHONE: THIS BLOCKS THE LINES FOR

pains, pain killers, travel sickness treatments, nit preparations, sanitary

Any items not in stock can often be ordered in on request.
The Pharmacy shop
There's 'nothing' you can do for a cold???-WRONG!!
Did you know that you can buy all sorts of useful things in our pharmacy?
The pharmacy stocks ibuprofen tablets and liquid, also paracetamol tablets and
liquid. It is often cheaper to buy the 'generic' product rather than the branded
product - the pharmacy stocks both. The pharmacy also sells aspirin and co-codamol,
as well as pholcodine linctus and menthol crystals for inhalation if you are
suffering from a nasty cold. We sell aciclovir cream for cold sores - you don't
need a prescription. If you are feeling the chill, the pharmacy has a
stock of hot water bottles. We also stock tissues and a range of thermometers
and have a good selection of throat pastilles and nose sprays.
Prescribing for patients going on extended holidays or who
live part of the year overseas
The Department of Health has issued guidance to the effect that if a patient
leaves the UK for a period of more than three months, they should be
de-registered from their NHS GP practice, as they are no longer a permanent
resident of the UK:
“Persons who have left the UK, or who are intending to leave the UK for more
than 3 months are not normally allowed to continue to be registered with a
practice.”
Under these circumstances, clinicians cannot monitor the patient’s condition nor
their response to therapy, and the accepted view is that 3 months supply should
be sufficient to allow the patient to register with a doctor in their new place
of residence and arrange the continued supply of medicines.
