 Repeat Prescriptions

TO REQUEST A REPEAT PRESCRIPTION:

  • Tear Off Slip
Tear off the right hand slip from your last ordered prescription and mark which medication you require. Either hand this in to our dispensary or post it to us. If you wish to have your prescription posted back to you please supply a stamped addressed envelope.

Please give as much notice as possible to ensure that you do not run out of medication and to ensure we have the medication in stock if you are a dispensing patient.

Please bring enough money or a cheque book (if you pay for your prescriptions) as we are unable to extend credit.

Please remember that the doctor or nurse will need to see you at regular intervals to review your condition. Leave yourself enough medication in case you need an appointment.

REPEAT PRESCRIPTIONS MAY NOT BE ORDERED BY TELEPHONE: THIS BLOCKS THE LINES FOR URGENT CALLS

HUGHENDEN VALLEY PHARMA LTD

Pharmacy opening hours Monday to Friday 0800-1830.
The Pharmacy and dispensary are closed between 1230 and 1330.

Hughenden Valley Pharma Ltd is a self contained pharmacy within the surgery building. It is open to the general public, not just patients of the surgery.

As well as filling prescriptions, the pharmacy sells cold and flu preparations, antibiotics for conjunctivitis, hayfever tablets and liquids, eye drops and nose sprays, cough mixtures, corn, wart and verruca preparations, rubs for aches and pains, pain killers, travel sickness treatments, nit preparations, sanitary items, incontinence pads, condoms, pill cutters, tablet boxes, ear drops, tissues etc.

Any items not in stock can often be ordered in on request.

The Pharmacy shop

There's 'nothing' you can do for a cold???-WRONG!!

Did you know that you can buy all sorts of useful things in our pharmacy?  The pharmacy stocks ibuprofen tablets and liquid, also paracetamol tablets and liquid. It is often cheaper to buy the 'generic' product rather than the branded product - the pharmacy stocks both. The pharmacy also sells aspirin and co-codamol, as well as pholcodine linctus and menthol crystals for inhalation if you are suffering from a nasty cold. We sell aciclovir cream for cold sores - you don't need a prescription.  If you are feeling the chill, the pharmacy has a stock of hot water bottles. We also stock tissues and a range of thermometers and have a good selection of throat pastilles and nose sprays.

Unused medicines being wasted?

£800 million worth of medicines dispensed to UK patients are unused and going to waste, according to government figures. Your unwanted medicines can help save lives in Africa.

Inter Care – Medical Aid for Africa is a UK registered charity (no. 275637) which collects selected returned patient medicines from GP practices and, after appropriate quality controls, recycles them free of charge to a network of over one hundred health centres in six desperately poor countries of sub-Saharan Africa.

We are collecting for inter-care at the Hughenden Surgery and will be doing so shortly at the Prestwood Surgery. Click here to see what returned medicines can be accepted: http://www.intercare.org.uk/donate-medicines/what-can-be-donated
