IMPORTANT: Routine appointment times for doctor and
nurses are usually for 10 minutes but if you have several items to be discussed
please tell the Receptionist who will allocate a longer appointment.

DOCTORS’ APPOINTMENTS
Monday to Friday 8.00am to 11.00am and 2.50pm to 5.30pm
These may vary daily for specific doctors.
Approximately 30% of appointments are normally available to book in advance. The
majority of these are available to book one week ahead but a limited number can
be booked up to three weeks ahead.
The remaining appointments are released on the day. Friday afternoon surgeries
may only be booked on the day as only one duty doctor is available on each site.

Extended hours surgeries
The surgery now offers extended hours for
pre-booked consultations. We hope that this will be helpful to our
patients who are commuters or working. At Hughenden these will be Tuesday and Thursday evenings and
occasional Monday evening and at Prestwood the extended hour surgery will be on Monday evening. The pharmacy hours remain unchanged. The extended
hours are subject to doctor availability.
Please Note: Appointments at Hughenden Valley Surgery are generally reserved for
patients registered at Hughenden Valley Surgery and appointments at
Chequers Drive Surgery are reserved for patients registered at
Prestwood. However, if you would prefer for any reason, to see a male
doctor, please inform the receptionist as your appointment will need to
be at our Prestwood surgery. Occasionally you may be requested by the doctor, nurse or
receptionist to attend at the other surgery if this is possible, usually
because of pressure on appointments or unexpected staff absences.

depending on the nature of the visit.
